Light Infantry

Type: Ground Based Military Units

House: Any

Requires: Barracks

Range: Short ñ Speed 10 km/h (on foot)

Armor: Light. Light Infantry are resistant to missiles (trooper; quad, missile tank) and large caliber guns (combat tank, gun turret) but very vulnerable to high explosives (siege tank), fire (Ornithopter) and bullet weapons (trike and light infantry).

Purpose: Light Infantry are lightly armored foot soldiers, equipped with 9mm RP assault rifles. Light Infantry are effective against other infantry and vehicles unprotected by armor.

Troopers

Type: Ground Based Military Units

House: Any

Requires: Upgraded Barracks

Range: Medium ñ Speed: 6 km/h (on foot)

Armor: Light. Troopers are resistant to anti-tank weaponry but very vulnerable to high explosives, fire and bullet weapons.

Purpose: Armed with wire guided missile launchers, troopers fire armor-piercing warheads. Troopers are particularly effective against vehicles (especially armored ones) and buildings. However; this unit is relatively ineffective against infantry.

Engineer

Type: Mechanic/Special Forces

House: Any

Requires: Upgraded Barracks

Range: N/A ñ Speed: 10 km/h (on foot)

Armor: Light. Engineers are resistant to anti-tank weaponry, but very vulnerable to high explosives, fire and bullet weapons.

Purpose: When sent into an enemy building, an Engineer can capture it, and make it available for use.

Thumper

Type: Ground Based Environmental Defense Unit

House: Any (multiplayer only)

Requires: Upgrade Barracks

Range: N/A ñ Speed: 15 km/h

Armor: Light. Thumpers are resistant to anti-tank weaponry, but very vulnerable to high explosives, fire and bullet weapons.

Purpose: Thumpers generate a rhythmic pulsing that attracts the giant desert Sandworms.

Quads

Type: Light Attack Vehicle

House: Any

Requires: Upgraded Light Factory

Range: Short ñ Speed: 59 km/h

Armor: Light. Quads are resistant to bullets and high explosives, to a lesser degree. However, Quads are vulnerable to missiles and high caliber guns.

Purpose: Slower than the Trike, but stronger in both armor and fire power, the Quad is a four-wheeled vehicle firing armor-piercing rockets. The Quad is effective against most vehicles.

Combat Tank

Type: Medium Battle Tank

House: Any

Requires: Heavy Factory

Range: Medium ñ Speed: 40 km/h

Armor: Medium. Combat Tanks are very resistant to bullet and heavy explosives, but are vulnerable to missiles and high caliber guns.

Purpose: The Combat Tank is effective against most vehicles.

Seige Tank

Type: Battlefield Support Vehicle

House: Any

Requires: Upgraded Heavy Factory

Range: Long ñ Speed: 32 km/h

Armor: Heavy. Siege Tanks are resistant to bullets, and to some degree, high explosives. These Units are vulnerable to missiles and high caliber guns.

Purpose: The Siege Tank is very effective against infantry and unarmored vehicles but fairly slow, and very weak against heavily armored targets.

MCV

Type: Base Deployment Vehicle

House: Any

Requires: Upgraded Heavy Factory and Repair Pad

Range: N/A ñ Speed: 15 km/h

Armor: Medium. MCV's are resistant to bullets and some high explosives. They are vulnerable to missiles and high caliber guns.

Purpose: After locating an appropriate site, the MCV can be transformed into a Construction Yard.

Carryall

Type: Airborne Unit

House: Any

Requires: High Tech Factory

Range: N/A ñ Speed: 160 km/h

Armor: Heavy. Carryalls are vulnerable to missiles and can only be hit by AA weapons.

Purpose: The Carryall is a lightly armored transport aircraft with no weapons. Carryalls will automatically pick up and deliver harvesters when they are fully loaded with Spice. Carryalls will also return harvesters to the Spice fields after harvesters have unloaded their Spice.
